The pomegranate contains the Hebrew blessing we say before eating a fruit that grows on a tree. The pomegranate is listed in the torah as one of the seven species (shivat haminim) of fruits and grains that are special products of the Land of Israel.

Lora Martini (Cohen) paints primarily with encaustic (natural beeswax with color pigment) on birch panels. Some of her influences come from memories while living in Israel during her formative years.
