Year End Campaign
Supporting Jewish Life in Harford County |
What is the greatest gift you can give another person? Surely it is the gift of identity -- the tools to connect with their inner selves.
Allow me to share with you Alice*’s story, a moving account of powerful self-discovery.
Alice was searching to find her place in the world, looking to uncover life’s purpose and meaning. Her journey led her to many destinations, yet, sadly, not anyplace Jewish. She had never been exposed to the beauty of her heritage, and was never shown the value of her Jewish identity. Not knowing where to find answers within the Jewish world, she joined a local church and converted to Christianity.
Since beginning our operations in Harford County, Chabad has connected with Alice, and has been the guiding light she so needed in her uncertain life. Her two beautiful children, ages 7 and 11, are now actively engaged in their Judaism, with plans for a Bat Mitzvah celebration for this coming year.
For Alice, a searching soul, thirsty to discover her life’s purpose, Chabad has breathed a new air of Jewish life. Alice, together with her children, can now share the emotional connection in being part of the Jewish family.
We are all spiritual seekers. We all search for purpose and meaning. For many people in this community, Chabad is the address where they can turn.
A Jewish community has many needs. Our children need a Hebrew School, where they learn to be proud of their Jewish heritage. Our adults need educational classes, where they are given a link to generations of Jewish teachings. Our sick need to be visited; our elderly need to be cared for.
At Chabad we care for the needs of every Jew, regardless of their background or affiliation.
Here’s where we need your help.
The center we run is entirely self-funded, and relies on generous community members like yourself. Our services to the community run a yearly budget of $320,000 -- every dollar of which comes from individual, private donations.
As 2022 comes to a close, I urge you to partner with us in the important work that we do by contributing $100 to our year-end campaign. Your generosity will allow us to continue providing the spiritual sustenance so many are seeking.
Contributions of any amount can be made by clicking the link on this page or
by mailing a check to Harford Chabad P.O. Box 393 Bel Air, MD 21014
or by calling our office at 443.353.9718.
Thank you for being a partner in the Harford Chabad Family!
With blessings for the new year,
Rabbi Kushi Schusterman
